Interior layout
The weathertight cabin offer full standing headroom and comfortable accommodations for family cruising. On the starboard side is the fully enclosed head compartment (an absolute essential for any voyage lasting more that a few hours). There is a 48-quart removable ice chest under the rear dinette seat. 5 can be seated around the table. A foredeck hatch provides ventilation. There are large horizontal windows on port and starboard sides. A full double berth is at the bough. The dinette is raised so you can see out of the windows when seated. The table has a clear, protected inset for a chart of your sailing area. There are storage compartments under every seat and berth, which is a large amount of space for a boat this size. The table lowers to cover the dinette into a double berth. The front seat back lifts out to create an interrupted sleeping area that is 13 foot long. Unlike many boats the, the mast post does not interfere with any of the berths.
Galley
The galley is on the port side. It has a sink, tile counter, and a 2-burner stove. There is a large storage cabinet below the galley and compartments designed for small items (plates, silverware, bottles etc.,) on its forward face.
Electronic Equipment
The engine is an auto-start and controlled by a remote electrical and mechanical system with full monitoring.
Electrical System
A 12 Volt system is furnished throughout the boat. The battery is charged automatically by a regulated integral alternator whenever the engine is running.
Other Equipment
There is an Anchor Locker which houses a Fortress Anchor with ample Rode and Chain to meet most anchoring situations.
Remarks
The beauty of this trailerable sailboat is that of its unique ballast system. It makes it possible to have a very light weight for powering and trailering, but the heavy stability for safe sailing. In addition, the 26X is a self righting design with the water ballast tank filled.
