Remarks

Pendle Mist is a Hughes 40, ketch rigged sail boat built in 1979. She was built in Ontario, Canada. She was designed by Sparkman and Stephens. She has a modified full keel which only draws 4’7. She has a centre cockpit which provides spacious accommodations and storage below deck. All specifications and a full inventory are listed below.
Pendle Mist is completing a successful 2018 winter season in The Bahamas and is sailing back to Halifax, Nova Scotia, her home port. Her owners prepared for this retirement trip and are selling her to pursue other plans. They are prepared to show Pendle Mist to interested buyers at any point in their journey up the Eastern seaboard. Delivery may be possible.
Pendle Mist has been refitted by the owners over several years. She was purchased in 2010 to prepare for living aboard and cruising. As such, many of the additions are suited for this lifestyle.
All of the cabinetry has been replaced in the salon and cabins with cane fronts for air circulation and wood trim.
All of the upholstery has been replaced and/or cleaned with a blue and white colour scheme.
A waterless, composting toilet replaced a marine head which eliminates holding tanks, frees up storage space, and ensures environmentally sound waste removal.
One of the two heads was converted to a shower room. All of these modifications proved effective and comfortable during the cruising season.
Pendle Mist’s hull was painted in 2015. The deck was painted in 2016. Her bottom was done in 2017 with Copper Coat bottom paint.
