Boat is a cold-molded boat built in 1982 in New Zealand by the company of Yotsports.
This 1981 Custom Built John Spencer 52 is one of only 5 of this custom-built design in the world. The Spencer design is cherished around the world as being renowned for boats like Ragtime . This cold-molded racer/cruiser is built strong, light, and fast with accommodations that allow the boat to be traveled globally.
This John Spencer originally sailed from New Zealand to the United States. She has sailed numerous trips to Hawaii. She handles like a giant dingy. This 52' has resided in California, first in San Francisco and currently in Ventura,
This Custom Built is hard chined and cold molded. She is made out of Kauri wood, an indigenous wood from New Zealand.
She has a single long cockpit, hard dodger, and a swim step/sugar scoop
The engine runs great! The hours unknown.
The rudder is a Carl Schumacher designed Cal 40 rudder with 18 added. It is built by the FOSS Company in Newport California made out of sandwich foam construction. It's beautiful. it was built in 2010.
The rigging is 10 years old and is in excellent working condition with 316 stainless and Norseman fittings. The rigger who put it in gave a recent inspection and found no issues.
The accommodations include 3 cabins and 7 berths that will sleep 8. There are a large dinette and sofa. The Galley includes a stove, microwave, and 4 iceboxes. There is also a barbeque on deck for outdoor cooking.
