Interior layout

The interior of the boat is in impeccable condition and unlike many on the market she is not dated. The wood work is in like-new condition with updated seating and carpeting. The galley is open and user friendly adjacent to the dinette. The salon is inviting and the same is true for the upper aft deck. The full beam master stateroom is a beautiful retreat with lots of drawers and closets as well as a private head and shower. The bow stateroom shared a head with shower with the main salon and features a full-size bed with plenty of storage. In fact, this boat has tons of storage, many hidden gems. At the helm, you have full command of the boat with (2) helm seats and guest seating beside and in front of you making for a fun trip on the water.

Galley

At the forward end of the salon, you descend two steps (with hidden storage underneath) to find the dinette to port and the galley to starboard. The space is open and flows easily back into the salon allowing anyone preparing meals to feel as if they are still connected to the salon activity, while not having to have the galley as a main feature of the salon. The dinette is a large U-Shaped unit with almost new cushions that can seat 6 and offers plenty of practical storage underneath. This unit is also a drop-down comfy full-size bed. The central vac is hidden under one of the cushions and there is a display shelf along with spice rack and cabinets handy to the galley. Both the salon and dinette are fully carpeted. The galley features a full size stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, built-in microwave/convection oven, stainless steel sink with handheld faucet sprayer and second water purifier faucet and a 4-burner cooktop with oven. Remarks

Introduction: Opilio, a 1982 44’ Viking Motor yacht in pristine condition, is on the hunt for a new owner. She is currently in the water at Cape Ann Marina in Gloucester, Mass. She is the perfect boat for a Grand Looper, East Coast cruiser, Live-Aboard or just someone who enjoys the feel of a well-maintained strong seaworthy vessel. She has been prepped for the summer and is ready to go. All the canvas for the flybridge and aft deck is brand-new, the bottom paint is in excellent condition, she comes with 2 recent surveys (one done in April, 2017) and she is newly waxed top to bottom. This is just one of those boats that when you get on you know she has been well taken care of all her life and all records and system guides are available.
The interior of the boat is in impeccable condition and unlike many on the market she is not dated. The wood work is in like-new condition with updated seating and carpeting. The galley is open and user friendly adjacent to the dinette. The salon is inviting and the same is true for the upper aft deck. At the helm, you have full command of the boat with (2) helm seats and guest seating beside and in front of you making for a fun trip on the water.
Hull Design and Construction: Viking Yachts are well known for their outstanding offshore performance. The foundation for the 44’ model is her variable dead rise, modified V-Hull configuration which features a deep fore-foot at the bow and 15.5 degrees of dead rise at the transom. Aggressive reverse chines do a remarkable job of keeping spray off the boat. There is a low profile directional keel for improved tracking. The boat is constructed of modified polyester resin for superior blister protection, E-glass woven and knitted fiberglass cloth and numerous coring materials including end-grain balsa, synthetic foam and marine grade plywood. The hull has a solid fiberglass bottom, below the waterline, for rugged service and balsa cored hull sides for exceptional strength and lighter weight. The main stringer system is of fiberglass encapsulating a marine grade plywood core for outstanding shock absorption and rigidity, while the engine beds are a Viking proprietary steel I-beam arrangement, which creates the most rigid foundation possible for the engines. The deck structure is of similar cored construction as the hull with balsa used to core the deck surfaces. Viking’s reputation for quality construction is renowned.
Vessel Walk-Through: The cabin is entered on center-line from the covered hard-top aft deck via three steps (with hidden storage underneath). As you enter the salon, you are immediately taken with the large open space that flows freely forward and down in the galley and dinette area. The salon has a large L-shaped sofa (comfy pull-out queen bed) with near new cushions to port and a single barrel chair to starboard. The space also features built-in cabinets forward housing the audio and TV systems as well as plenty of drawers and cabinets for storage. The salon is beautifully decorated giving the area a comfortable and updated warm feel. There are large tinted windows port, starboard and bow which allow plenty of natural light. Blinds and fitted canvas exterior snap on window cover in black for bow windows allow adjustment of amount of light (helpful to keep her cool on sunny warm days). The entire interior is finished in the finest teak work you are likely to find in a boat this price. The warm tones of the wood give the interior a rich traditional marine feel, while the design of the joiner work is classically modern, a look that will not go out of style.
Plenty of cabinets and drawers for storage. Just past the galley is the stacked washer/dryer unit in a closet.
Forward of the galley is access to the carpeted guest stateroom and guest/day head. The guest quarters feature an off-set double berth, plenty of drawers and a large handing locker. The space is beautifully finished in classic woods and has a ledge that runs along the outside of the space for display. There is a cushioned seat with storage below and our guests that stay in this room never wake up early. It is a favorite room. There is private access to the forward head. This head has a stall shower with glass door and built-in seating bench, vacu-flush toilet and built-in vanity with sink with counter, storage below and above and wide shelf with window to port side.
The master stateroom is aft and entered from the salon on the starboard side down 3 steps (with hidden storage underneath). The master berth is an island marine-queen on centerline. The stateroom is framed with built-in teak cabinetry which provides his and hers drawers, shelves and bedside tables, port and starboard as well as 2 hanging lockers and a small TV station. The private master head is similar in features to the guest head with vanity, vacu-flush toilet and stall shower with curtain.
The rear aft deck which one enters the boat from either port or starboard side is roomy, with hardtop and new canvas curtains all done in black trim. A built-in bar with black surround woodwork is above a large tool chest with cushioned seat cover. She easily fits 6 and we have entertained up to 12 on this back deck. As well as it is truly the summer living room, morning coffee area and overall boat staging location. The wicker furniture can come along if you wish but the cushions are ready to be replaced. The work but she is ready for a more aesthetic cushion color choice. A gray indoor/outdoor rug cushions the feet and the hardtop ceiling is newly painted.
The Flybridge is accessed from the starboard side of the Aft Deck up 3 steps to a roomy helm. All new canvas curtains done in black trim surround all 4 sides of the hardtop space. Two helm chairs in excellent condition with adjustable seating and near new seat cushions for the 2 long seat benches for your guests. Under the helm is plenty of storage for safety gear. More room is under one of the cushions as well as a large locker at the front bow. Electronics are discussed in list below.
The engine room is accessed through panels in the salon. The engine room is a 3 compartment below deck space and is clean, dry and easy to maneuver for most work. Access to panels for all systems can be found throughout the boat in hidden locations and a schematic map is provided. See the specs for more information on systems.
Summary: She is ready for her next home, she is a boat that needs to be used and our next year will not provide the time for that.
