The aft wrap-around lounge is covered by an extended Bimini and can seat 7 of your 12 passengers comfortably. Lots of beverage-holders keep your drinks in place and a generous size sink is located port side, with tons of storage area underneath. There's also plenty of storage under the seats and a large wet locker off the swim platform.

Forward, the cockpit offers two double-wide seats, one at the helm, one for forward-facing passengers, both with Cobalt's flip-lip design for full comfort and support. Hidden within the passenger-side console is the head compartment including Porta-Potti.

The sole itself is very strong, totally composite, constructed of fiberglass and Nida-Core (a honeycomb material), free of rot-prone wood as is typical of all Cobalt boats. The interior is self-draining for easy washdown.

There's lots of storage space in the sole with a large locker in the aft cockpit area, an oversized ski locker in the forward walk-through area, and storage compartments under the forward seat bases.

In the bow of the massive 292, passengers will relax in oversized, curved seat backs facing forward with contoured comfort all around. During cooler temps, a bi-fold door closes the bow. Wider and deeper is also the rule with the 292 sporting a 9'6 beam.

Designed to be a center for water-based activities, the swim platform is spacious and the concealed boarding ladder is solid and sturdy, extending a full three steps below the waterline. To the port side, the walk-through transom leads to easy entry to the cockpit.

This Cobalt 292 is powered by twin Mercruiser 5.7L EFI engines producing 260HP each. The Captain will appreciate the Kiekhaefer controls which give a smoother and higher level of performance at the helm and added control during docking with twin engines.

The wood tone dash enhances instrument visibility and puts all control switches within reach. Twin-engine instrumentation is organized for maximum display without the typical clutter. Gauges include voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel.

The helm includes a large screen Garmin GPS/plotter and control head for the Sony RM-XM10 AM/FM stereo. There is also a Halon fire control system.

Twin power-trim gauges are mounted side by side for ease in synchronized adjustment. The aircraft-style, dash-mounted circuit breakers and stainless-steel switches deliver a high level of reliability.

The engine access opening stretches the full width of the cockpit. The powered hydraulic rams lift the motor box lid to a height that allows six feet of clearance, making the 292 easy to service, even with twins.

As mentioned earlier, this one comes with a bimini extended to aft by approximately 40 inches. The package also includes a full cockpit storage cover and a separate bow area storage cover.
