Located near Seattle, Washington, this 1927 Wilmington Boat Works Custom 96 has a great and extensive American history, and the owners are willing to take a partial trade with tangible property such as real estate or collectible cars.
This vessel has the longest US Government ownership in history. It was names Polaris during this part of it's history, and was an on-board meeting place for Winston Churchill and Herbert Hoover, and was US Navy patrol boat Q109 in WWII on the waters of Puget Sound. It was also designated as a historic landmark in the Sacramento valley and later removed. During this part of its history, it was names Pasado Manana.
She was commissioned as a US Government research vessel when the USGS bought Polaris in 1964, transforming her to a marine laboratory and the communications, navigation, and safety equipment were updated to the latest marine safety standards. She worked for the USGS as a research vessel until 2016
The yacht is powered by a single Detroit Diesel 12V Series 71 engine, there are three sets of generators, the hull was just refastened with over 30,000 new fasteners, and there are many more system upgrades.
The back deck was recently converted with the construction of a large salon designed to match the yacht's original style. The large galley area has been expanded to provide even more capability for professional meal preparation.
