YOUR SAILING FUN AWAITS YOU! LOTS OF BOAT THAT IS LOADED! PLENTY OF RIGGING & EXTRAS! USE AS A LIVEABOARD OR SAIL THE GULF! MUCH MORE INCLUDED!!!!

The 1980 Gulfstar Sailmaster 47 is a center cockpit cruising yacht designed by Vince and Richard Lazzara, built in the U.S. by Gulfstar Yachts. It was one of the early raised-salon sailboats, offering generous headroom, large windows for natural light, and an unusually spacious interior for its time.

With a solid fiberglass hull and balsa-cored deck, the boat measures about 47 feet overall, with a waterline length of 40.5 feet, a beam of nearly 14 feet, and a shoal draft of 5.5 feet, making it suitable for coastal cruising and island hopping.

The typical layout features a large aft master stateroom with a queen berth and en-suite head, a forward guest cabin, and a spacious main salon with wraparound seating and panoramic views. The U-shaped galley is well-equipped for extended cruising.

The boat is commonly ketch-rigged, although sloop versions exist, with a sail area just over 800 square feet. It's powered by a Perkins 130-135 HP diesel engine and often outfitted with additional gear like a diesel generator, watermaker, solar panels, bow thruster, and windlass.

While the Sailmaster 47 isn't a high-performance sailor--its sail area/displacement ratio is moderate--it offers comfort, stability, and liveaboard capability. Owners appreciate the boat's livability, classic lines, and reliability on long coastal or bluewater passages.

Despite Gulfstar's earlier reputation for inconsistent build quality, the Sailmaster series marked a period of improved craftsmanship and remains a popular choice among cruising couples and liveaboards today.
