When introduced the manufacturer's slogan was The Watkins 27 thinks she's a 30' sloop. With pedestal steering in the cockpit, shore power, a pressurized water system, a full 6'2 of standing room in the cabin, large comfortable berths, and plenty of room for storage it's easy to see why this is not just marketing fluff.

This is a solidly built boat with a broad 10-foot beam and 23.8' L.W.L. At 7,500 lbs and a ballast ratio of 46%, the Watkins 27 is a sure handler designed to cruise for days in comfort. The Watkins 27 just feels big and safe. Also, with a 3'8 shoal draft this boat can go places where most other bluewater capable sailboats just can't go

The owner completed several major maintenance projects in early 2022 designed to ensure the reliability, performance, and convenience of the vessel.

Engine, Transmission, Shaft - The owner installed a 24 HP freshwater-cooled Universal 3 cylinder fresh water cooled engine. He also replaced the transmission and shaft, cutlass, and packing box. The 2-blade propellor was refurbished and re-pitched.

Bottom Paint - The bottom was sanded and painted with multiple barrier coats and multiple coats of anti-fouling paint. Interlux paint was used. The owner has the bottom cleaned monthly by a service.

Dinghy Davits / Solar Panels - The 8' WM PRU-3 dinghy and 3.3 HP Mercury outboard, in very good condition, are included in the sale. On top of the davits are two 100-watt solar panels with separate controllers.

The owner also installed a new marine toilet and Y valve. The mainsail is in fair condition. The jib is in good condition. A 150 Genoa is not included in the sale but is available.
