Unique opportunity to own a yard-maintained 1987 Cape Dory 30 MKII. Building on the legacy of the well-known Cape Dory line of traditional full keel boats, this is the reimagined 30 from the in house designer Clive Dent.
Bigger in most every way than the original, she offers tremendously enhanced livability with the renowned seakeeping ability of all Cape Dory yachts.
This boat has been stored and serviced by the original Cape Dory dealer. The teamwork of knowledgeable owners and yard have kept the yacht looking great. The original engine was replaced with a 2003 30B Westerbeke diesel engine.
Recently updated soft goods including a dodger with isinglass and side curtains, a fly with bimini, helm cover and mainsail cover all in matching Sunbrella, new in 2019.
Below deck the cabin is warm and inviting with a traditional layout. Forward is a large V-berth in the owner's cabin with hanging locker and under-berth storage and drawers. Opening hatch and portholes allow for good airflow through the boat.
Aft to starboard is an enclosed head with a sink, toilet, and separate shower. There is a teak seating area for the shower and another opening porthole.
The main salon features opposing settees (starboard opens to a double bunk), a drop-down double table, storage outboard and under. The cabin sole is a polished teak and holly with two lift-up panels for access to the deep bilge. There are opening portholes and overhead hatch here as well.
Further aft is a full galley to port with double sink in an L , gimballed stove with oven and large icebox. Again there are numerous storage areas outboard and under counters. Opposite is a nav station with large quarter berth aft. There is a Horizon GX120 VHF along with an older Furuno 1720 radar. All interior cushions were replaced in 2018 with new foam and new custom Sunbrella coverings.
Topsides offer a large cockpit with wheel steering and teak table, binnacle-mounted instruments plus a swing-out Garmin 545s GPS-plotter. There are custom-made closed cell cushions that are in good condition. Self-tailing winches are port and starboard with both inner and outer tracks for close sheeting angles.
There are wide side decks allowing easy access forward. There is a cabin-mounted traveler, 3 halyards and Hood 810 Seafurl to handle sails. There is a pulpit mounted 10 KG Bruce anchor with 16' of chain and 100' of nylon rode as well second Danforth with 150' of nylon rode.
