Additional Boat Details
Even though this is a racer/cruiser the interior is spacious and comfortable.
There is a main cabin, a v-berth, an aft cabin with double bed. There is a full head with separate shower and a half head but you can use it as a shower/head but it's a bit cramped.
There is a gimballed 3 burner stove with oven/broiler, double sink, microwave, double refrig/freezer that is accessed from the counter top.
Storage space behind the sink and under the stairway.
Autopilot, chart plotter, compass, depth/speed/wind, GPS, radio.
AC and DC with interface.
Kohler 4000watt generator, one electric topside winch, electric windlass, air conditioner/heater, refrigeration, dodger/bimini wth side curtains to almost totally enclose the cockpit, lazy jack mainsail system, roller furling genoa, whisker pole, custom swim platform with dinghy davits, propane grill, and so much more!
This boat is not a production-line built boat. We purchased the hull and deck from Catalina when they bought out Morgan Marine. It was an empty hull with only lead in the keel and a separate deck. We had the interior hull stringers made of 2 x 4 wolmanized wood and coated with fiberglass cloth and resin. The stringers are 2 ¼" thick with ½" thick epoxy. The hull is 1” thick fiberglass/epoxy.
Extra care was given to the interior mast-step for the 62’ mast. Production boats previously had problems and we took care to beef up the mast-step to relieve downward force on the hull and stays.
Catalina gave us all the extra parts they could find for the interior and we built, fabricated, and scoured salvage yards to find what we needed to complete a custom, comfortable living area.
