1996 Sea Ray 500 Sundancer - twin 3176 Cat Diesels, 8.3KW Westerbeke Generator, Lake living at its best!

Sea Ray 500 Sundancer - powered by twin Catepillar 3176 diesel inboard engines - 1164 total HP!

This 1996 Express Cruiser has a great layout that makes entertaining at the lake fun and enjoyable for everyone. The Sea Ray is for those that love to go fast and those that just want to enjoy an evening cruise or the views from the rear cockpit at the dock.

The helm and cockpit are loaded with options - a circular seating aft of the Captain's bench to a new cockpit refrigerator and more. The boat is still a work in process with some cosmetic items that need to be addressed - but the engines have been worked on and are in good running condition - including a recently replaced turbo on the port engine.

The large bow provides a great place to enjoy the day on the water with a princess pad and a solid bow rail for safety and a handrail down the middle of the bow. The bow pulpit and windlass provide easy access to the anchor and anchor rode and spotlight (needs some attention).

The helm is functional with all the gauges and controls needed to operate the vessel. Cosmetically it could use some work to return it to its original glory.

The boat is equipped with Furuno radar boom and B&G Network Pilot system, the GPS Plus 12 system and Caterpillar engine management system.

Down below you have a spacious salon and galley with 2 staterooms each with its own head. As you come down the companionway - the cabinet on your left has a large flat-screen TV and the control panel for AC and DC is behind the TV. Entering the salon, the circular couch creates a great place for entertaining or just enjoying friends and family. The cabinet below the TV houses a combo clothes washer/dryer unit. The vessel has a central vacuum system as shown in the photos.

Continuing into the large galley area there is a large refrigerator/freezer, a separate ice maker, solid-surface countertops with a large double sink, toaster oven, and induction stove top with three burners, and a Magic-Chef air fryer. There is plenty of cabinet space for storage and the unique round display storage cabinet for wine and liquor or other uses.

The 2 staterooms - one has a full bed with a bunk bed over it and it has its own full head - with a separate shower and wet head and a full vanity / bathroom sink.

The forward stateroom has a large king-size bed with accent lighting and hanging lockers on either side of the bed, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, cedar-lined closets, a vanity at the foot of the bed, plus a large head with large vanity / bathroom sink with 3 mirrors with multiple medicine cabinets, a seprate head and separate shower.

There is a photo of the full enclosure canvas in the middle of the galley floor the day of the listing photos - they did not install the canvas, but wanted to be sure we were aware that they had it and it is in good ondition. The cabin is kept comfortable with 3 marine AC units - a total of 26,000 BTUs (one-16K and two-10K units).

The battery switches are easily accessible in a gunnel compartment in the cockpit area. There is an access panel in the floor to enter the power area just behind the companionway steps - two 30 Amp battery charger, ecotouch management system, fuse board, fuel tank controls, and more.

Entering the engine compartment through the hatch near the transom - the Westerbeke 8.3KW generator with 1172 hours on it and flanked by the 2 Catepillar 3176 Turbo Diesel engines - with 928 hours on the Port engine and 1136 hours on the starboard engine.

The engine compartment is clean and organized and all appears to be in good operating condition.
