This McGregor is a tailerable sailboat. If you are not familiar with the McGregor it is a lightweight sailboat without the standard Lead Keel that would normally hang down too far to put on a regular boat trailer. The McGregor has about 300 pounds of internal ballast and holds 1300 pounds of water in the hull cavity that provides the rest of ballast to keep the sailboat stable while under sail.

The mast tips all the way forward and rides on the top of the boat while trailering. When the boat is launched, the mast lifting system raises the mast into position and the sails are then deployed.

This boat is unique as you can store it in a long driveway, or storage lot that doesn't carry the higher expense of a marina. Additionally, no anti-fouling bottom paint is necessary because it is out of the water when not in use.

It is extremely economical to operate as it has an outboard motor to get you away from the launch ramp, but underway, you will use wind power. It is designed for a fun day on the water without all the normal expense of maintaining a sailboat at a marina.
